Twas the Night Before Christmas is a Christmas-themed episode of the pre-school children's television series Super WHY! that is scheduled to debut on PBS in the United States and in Canada on CBC in December of 2008.
In the story, Super Why, the super hero alias of Whyatt Beanstalk, a six-year old boy whose brother is Jack of Jack and the Beanstalk fame, along with his friends, Alpha Pig (alias The Littlest Pig of The Three Little Pigs), Wonder Red (alias the titular character of Little Red Riding Hood) and Princess Presto (alias Princess Pea, the daughter of the Princess of The Princess and the Pea), a group of children known as "The Super Readers", fly into C. Clement Moore's famous poem "The Night Before Christmas" (aka A Visit From St. Nicholas) to find out why Santa Claus delivers gifts to children.
There is a book adaptation of this program published by Grosset & Dunlap to be released in September of 2008, whose cover is pictured on the right.
