Brock Harrison[1] (Japanese: タケシ Takeshi) is a character from the Pokémon video game series developed by Game Freak. He is the first Gym Leader whom the player battles in Pokémon Red and Blue, who lives in Pewter City and specializes in rock-type Pokémon. In the anime based on the game, he starts out in this same role, though when Ash Ketchum comes to battle him, it is revealed that Brock also has ten younger siblings to look after and actually aspires to be a Pokémon breeder. After his father returns, however, Brock joins Ash in his travels, and would notably be Ash's most frequent traveling companion, accompanying him through Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. Brock is the most mature of the group, often acting as an older brother figure and the voice of reason, and also handles the cooking and cleaning. However, his biggest weakness is that he loses his composure whenever he meets a pretty woman.
