Buzz Lightyear is a character originally created for the 1995 Pixar animated film and the world's first computer animated film, Toy Story. In the Toy Story films, the featured Buzz character is a toy — an electronic spaceman action figure — whereas the spin-off television series, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, followed the adventures of the fictional space ranger on whom the toy is modeled.
