Casper the Friendly Ghost is a cartoon character from the Famous Studios theatrical animated cartoon series and Harvey Comics series of the same name. As his name suggests, he is a ghost, but prefers to befriend people and animals instead of scaring them. According to the 1995 feature film, his full name is Casper McFadden.
