"Christmas Time" is the third Christmas episode of the ABC sitcom Happy Days, aired in the show's sixth season.

Synopsis

Fonzie receives a Christmas gift from his father but is reluctant to accept and open it. Meanwhile, Richie and Lori Beth argue about what they've spent on each other's gifts, and Joanie is upset at Howard for getting an artificial tree.

Fonzie is eventually persuaded to open the gift, but it is the accompanying card that gets to him. It turns out that the man who delivered the gift was Fonzie's father. The card tells this in case he did not have the courage to identify himself. Fonzie realizes he barely remembers what his visitor looked like, his feelings from his abandonment still raw after all the years. But the love of his "average American family" helps see him through this moment, while Joanie gets her wish and then some as multiple real trees are brought by friends and family.

Availability

The episode was made available on the Happy Days: The Sixth Season DVD set, released by CBS Home Entertainment through Paramount Home Media Distribution on December 2, 2014.
