Christmas with Ernie & Bert (in German "Weihnachten mit Ernie & Bert") is a Christmas special spun off from Sesamstrasse, the German equivalent of Sesame Street. It originally aired Christmas 2008 (December 24 and 25 on KiKa and December 26 on NDR). It re-aired on December 24, 2009 on ARD.
Similar to Sesamstrasse, the special combines a framing story filmed in Germany, with a variety of insert clips taken from Sesame Street, with each framing clip serving as a topical intro the the following dubbed clip.
The original NDR airing featured different segments than the later ARD airing. Two songs, "Gingerbread Man" and "El Baile del Penguino" replaced "You Made Me Love You" and "O Christmas Tree" respectively. These segments were later changed when the special re-aired on NDR in December 2012.
