Peter Michael Falk (September 16, 1927 – June 23, 2011) was an American actor best known as the title character in the Columbo TV series and movies. Falk starred in a trilogy of holiday television movies – A Town Without Christmas (2001), Finding John Christmas (2003) and When Angels Come to Town (2004) – in which he portrayed Max, a quirky guardian angel who uses disguises and subterfuge to steer his charges onto the right path.
