North Wind is the main antagonist of the Warner Bros.-produced animated television special A Miser Brothers' Christmas. He's the evil, narcissistic brother of Snow Miser and Heat Miser who wants to take over Christmas, and he'll do all the work on his own (firing the elves and reindeer) in order to claim all of the glory that comes with the job.
Personality[]
North Wind's egotistical, narcissistic, and flat out selfish, willing to risk Santa's life to get what he wants. Then he hides this under a guise of good will, and kissing up to Mother Nature almost constantly. He doesn't care that his actions can harm other people or even his own brothers. All he wants to do is to become "a new Santa" and to be praised by the children of the world.
Abilities[]
North Wind has control over the winds from the north, and he's shown that he can fly, choosing to float everywhere he goes and rarely walking. He also has an ability to create huge vortexes.
In "What Makes Stop Motion Go?" documentary it was mentioned that "he is a tornado". So it can be said North Wind is the one who is responsible for creating natural disasters like tornadoes.
Role[]
In the special, he's first seen talking with Mother Nature who tells him that he takes over if Santa was put out of commission. Then North Wind decides to put Santa out of line in order to become in charge of Christmas, and do all of the work himself; and he would even fire the elves and drive the reindeer away.
He first had his minions try to take down Santa Claus by unscrewing the screws from his sleigh, causing it to crash and making Santa throw his back, this also blames Heat Miser and Snow Miser for the accident. However, he learns that the Miser brothers are putting aside their differences to ensure that the presents would still be delivered under Mother Nature's orders (unaware of what happened). Fearing that their reconciliation might be a threat to his plans, North Wind arranges his minions to set off pranks against his brothers, and make them look like each of them did it on each other, thus, both Heat Miser and Snow Miser started fighting again, forcing Santa to deliver the presents himself (despite still having the pain in his back).
Eventually, Mrs. Claus, and one of the elves named Tinsel learned that Santa's sleigh was sabotage, then they told this to the Miser brothers, and they realized that North Wind was responsible so that he can take over Christmas. Later he tries to take down Santa again during his flight, but then he's quickly caught in a parachute opened by Tinsel, who transports him back to the North Pole.
Upon arriving back at the North Pole, North Wind jumps out, angered that his plan was foiled, and the Miser Brothers tell him that he's been a very naughty boy. North Wind taunts his two brothers in response, saying that they have no authority over him, but then Heat Miser and Snow Miser pointed out that only one person does have authority over him and that is, Mother Nature. Finally learning the truth of what actually happened, Mother Nature arrives, and angrily grabs North Wind by his ear, calmly assuring everyone that she'll subject him into doing household chores for the next several thousand years as punishment for trying to take down Santa, and causing Heat Miser and Snow Miser to fight again, much to North Wind's dismay. North Wind is last seen washing and drying dishes back at Mother Nature's house, numbering up to hundreds of them, as he watches his brothers deliver the presents around the world moaning at his defeat.
