Foghorn with the Road Runner and Pete Puma in Bah, Humduck! A Looney Tunes Christmas
Foghorn J. Leghorn is a character from the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies theatrical cartoons produced for Warner Bros.. Created by Robert McKimson in 1946 and introduced in the short Walky Talky Hawky, he is a large anthropomorphic Leghorn rooster with a Southern accent and a penchant for mischief. A recurring theme in his cartoon shorts involved him and his canine nemesis, George P. Dog (better known today as the Barnyard Dog) engaging in one-upmanship through a series of pranks.
Appearances in Christmas specials[]
- Bugs Bunny's Looney Christmas Tales - Foghorn has a minor role in this 1978 special, in which he appears as one of the members in Bugs Bunny's group of carolers.
- Bah, Humduck! A Looney Tunes Christmas - In this 2006 direct-to-video special, he appears as one of the employees of Daffy Duck's mega-store.
- "A Christmas Carol" - His subplot in this episode of The Looney Tunes Show has him and Daffy traveling to the North Pole to plug in a giant fan so that it will blow cold air down to their hometown, which is suffering an unseasonable heat wave. This excursion seemingly proves fruitless, as they never do find a place to plug it into. After returning home and seeing Lola Bunny's in-name-only production of A Christmas Carol, however, Foghorn and Daffy learn that their efforts were not in vain after all, as it turned out that Santa Claus found their giant fan and plugged it in for them.
