It's a Pony Kind of Christmas (full title My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - It's a Pony Kind of Christmas) is a children's Christmas album starring characters from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, released digitally on November 6, 2015. An interesting aspect of the album is that while the songs use Christmas instead of its canonical analogue "Hearth's Warming", all the songs are essentially "sanitized" by making them fit into the series' thematics. For instance, Fluttershy's version of "Silent Night" does not use anything involving holy and focuses more on her beloved animal friends and the Apple family's version of "Auld Lang Syne", here "Days Gone By", focuses more on remembering those lost along the way (which is the heavily hinted, yet never outright stated Apple family patriarch and matriarch). Along with a buyable version, Hasbro's YouTube channel hosts most of the soundtrack on their channel (which is missing just one song) on November 23, 2015. On October 7, 2016, an expanded edition including the songs from "A Hearth's Warming Tail" barring the reprise of "Hearth's Warming Eve is Here Once Again" was released digitally and in CD form.[1]
