- Jingle Bell Rock redirects here. For other uses, see Jingle Bell Rock (disambiguation).
"Jingle Bell Rock" is a Christmas song which was originally popularized by Bobby Helms and has been recorded by numerous artists. The title and some of the lyrics refer to the popular Christmas song "Jingle Bells", but it also makes reference to popular ones from the 1950s.
Lyrics
- Jingle bell jingle bell jingle bell rock
- Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring
- Snowin' and blowin' up bushels of fun
- Now the jingle hop has begun
- Jingle bell jingle bell jingle bell rock
- Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time
- Dancin' and prancin' in Jingle Bell Square
- In the frosty air
- What a bright time it's the right time
- To rock the night away
- Jingle bell time is a swell time
- To go glidin' in a one-horse sleigh
- Giddyup jingle horse pick up your feet
- Jingle around the clock
- Mix and mangle in a jinglin' beat
- That's the jingle bell rock
- REPEAT SECOND AND THIRD VERSES
- Giddyup jingle horse pick up your feet
- Jingle around the clock
- Mix and mangle in a jinglin' beat
- That's the jingle bell
- That's the jingle bell
- That's the jingle bell rock
Appearance in Christmas specials
- "Oh, Tannerbaum" - At the beginning of this episode of ALF, the song is heard on the alarm clock radio that Willie turns off as he wakes up. Unfortunately, the syndicated reruns cut that out.
- A Muppet Family Christmas - Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem perform the song.
- "Koopa Klaus" - The original broadcasts as well as the first VHS release of this episode of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! featured a cover of the song in two scenes. In reruns and later home video releases, it was replaced by the instrumental version of a song from The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3.
- Pee-wee's Playhouse Christmas Special
- Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
- Jingle All the Way
- Jack Frost
- "Here Comes Santa Claus"
- Elf
- Chuck vs. Santa Claus
- It's Always Christmas with You
Outside of the above-listed specials, in the 1980s and 1990s, the Disney Channel ran a DTV music video of the song set to clips from the 1935 Mickey Mouse cartoon On Ice and the "Once Upon a Wintertime" segment from the 1948 film Melody Time.
