John Franklin Candy (October 31, 1950 - March 4, 1994) was a Canadian actor, voice actor, and comedian, known mainly for his work in Hollywood films. He was best known as a member of the Toronto branch of The Second City and its related Second City Television sketch comedy series. He was also well-known for starring in a variety of comedy films, such as Stripes and Spaceballs, and also voicing Wilbur the albatross in Disney's The Rescuers Down Under.
