John David Marks (November 10, 1909 - September 3, 1985) was a songwriter who specialized in Christmas songs and wrote such holiday standards as "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree", "A Holly Jolly Christmas", and "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day".
