Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow
"Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow", also known as just "Let It Snow", is a song written by Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne. It was written in 1945 in Hollywood during one of the hottest days on record. It is one of a number of winter-related songs generally associated with the Christmas season, despite there being no direct reference to Christmas in it.
Lyrics[]
- Oh the weather outside is frightful
- But the fire is so delightful
- And since we've no place to go
- Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
- It doesn't show signs of stopping
- And I've brought some corn for popping
- The lights are turned way down low
- Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
- When we finally kiss goodnight
- How I'll hate going out in the storm
- But if you'll really hold me tight
- All the way home I'll be warm
- The fire is slowly dying
- And, my dear, we're still goodbyeing
- But as long as you love me so
- Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
The last two stanzas are reprised with additional "Let it snow!" lines (usually four times).
