"A Present for Santa" is the first Christmas episode of the Nick Jr. animated series Dora the Explorer. It was originally released directly-to-video on September 24, 2002, before airing on Nickelodeon in prime-time on December 11th of that year. It is Christmas Eve and Santa is coming to Dora's house later tonight to bring them presents. Dora and Boots present each other with a pair of maracas and a flute, respectively, and they play the tune of "Feliz Navidad". They then leave out a present for Santa, but the next morning, they find that he didn't take his present with him after leaving their gifts. They go outside and see Santa from afar. Boots asks where he's going and Dora says that he's going home. Boots tells her that they have to give him his present, so they have to figure out how to get to the North Pole. Map says that the North Pole is very far away and that they have to go up the snowy mountains and across the icy river to get there. (more...)
