Matthew James Vogel (born October 6, 1970) is an American puppeteer and director who has worked for Sesame Workshop and The Muppets Studio. He has performed for the Muppets, Sesame Street, and Oobi. This included being an understudy for Big Bird starting in 2002 and eventually taking over the role full-time following Caroll Spinney's retirement in 2018, inheriting several roles while working with Jerry Nelson, and performing Kermit the Frog following the firing of Steve Whitmire in 2017.
