Nancy Green (née Mulligan) is a character from the Disney Channel animated series Big City Greens. She is Bill Green's ex-wife and Tilly and Cricket's mother who proudly considers herself a rebel. However, after having spent some time in prison for trying to liberate some cows from a dairy factory, she has since softened to being a responsible parent and now simply wishes to return to family life.
Appearances in Christmas specials[]
Nancy has a major role in the series' first Christmas episode, "Green Christmas". In the episode's B-plot, she and Bill's mother, Alice, realize they both forgot to get a Christmas gift for Bill and confess in the bathroom. Knowing how "clingy" he gets around Christmastime, they vow to get a gift for him in secret. They first attempt at making a gift in the garage, but it turns out to be a terrible statue, so they decide to check the stores instead. To distract him, they take him Christmas caroling and sneak off during his solo at the Remingtons', but all the stores are closed.
Eventually when a blizzard comes, Nancy isn't willing to find a gift anymore, but Gramma refuses to give up. Bill finds them, having heard the news on the blizzard, and takes them with him to find the kids; once they're aboard, everyone is to silent to even respond due to all the disasters that happened that night, but Bill thought they were saving their excitement. On Christmas Day, Nancy and Gramma confess their problem to Bill, but he reveals he found the ugly statue they made and considers it perfect. Nancy also decides she and Gramma will do every Christmas thing Bill wants to do to make up for it, no matter how embarrassing it seems.
At the beginning of the episode, Nancy breaks the fourth wall by noticing the Greens bursting into song out of nowhere which she is surprised about, thinking they might've planned in advance. She's also the only character who doesn't sing her lines in the closing song, though she does join the final chorus for the ending.
Nancy joined her family for Christmas again in the series' second Christmas episode, "Virtually Christmas". In it, she and the rest of the family take part in playing the game Outpost Infinity, which Cricket's friend Remy Remington gave him as a Christmas present, after Cricket gets snowed in while visiting Remy's mansion on Christmas Eve.
Nancy will be appearing again in the show's next Christmas episode, "Dream Tree", this time spending the holidays at the Greens' old farmhouse in Smallton and being joined by her father, Nick Mulligan.
