Oogie Boogie is the main antagonist in the Tim Burton-produced stop-motion film The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Role in the film[]
First, Oogie Boogie appears as a shadow during the opening song, This is Halloween. Later, Oogie was mentioned by Jack, telling Lock, Shock and Barrel to leave him out of it. When they put a helpless bug in a cage, a shadow version of him swallows it. The kids later put Santa into the chute and he screamed as his oversized butt was prodded by a plunger, pitchfork and broom until he squeezed through. After he fell onto the giant roulette, Oogie was torturing Santa by singing his song and later after the song, the kids laughed. Later on, Oogie appeared gambling more and Sally tried to rescue Santa from him, but was captured. He won the jackpot by getting an eleven by making his two dice into a 5 and 6. Later, Oogie was seen torturing Sally and Santa while Jack appears confronting him. Oogie tried to stop Jack, but Jack unravels him and all of the bugs fall off and later, he was squished by Santa.
