Oscar the Grouch is a character from the television series Sesame Street. He is a furry, green Grouch who lives in a trash can on Sesame Street. As a Grouch, his mission in life is to be as miserable and grouchy as possible, and pass that feeling on to everyone else. He does not take kindly to visitors and complains that he wants to be left alone, but when he is left entirely to himself, he's dissatisfied, as there isn't anybody around to irritate or complain to.
