Otto and Reggie's cameo in "The 12 Days of Nickmas".
Otto Rocket is one of the main characters from the Nickelodeon animated series Rocket Power. He is a boy in early adolescence living in Ocean Shores with his sister Reggie and widowed father Raymundo. A skilled, prodigious, and highly competitive athlete, he has won numerous competitions in surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding, though he also has a tremendous ego that he often trips over. He is also very handy with a bicycle and with rollerblades, and is captain of the youth-league roller-hockey team he shares with sister Reggie, their best friend Twister, and newcomer "squid" Sam.
Appearances in Christmas specials[]
In the series' Christmas special, "A Rocket X-Mas", Otto and his sister, with help from Twister and Sam, start walking other people's dogs to raise money so they can buy an expensive longboard as a gift for their father Ray. The endeavor turns out to be so lucrative that it monopolizes all of Otto and Reggie's free time, and keeps them away from spending time with their dad, who's obsessed with maintaining his (quirky) holiday traditions. On Christmas Eve, they find themselves feeling guilty about this. When it comes time to return the dogs to their owners, Reggie tells Otto to head for the surf store, since it's on his route. However, he accidentally loses the dogs when dared in to a race against Twister's brother Lars, and he and Reggie have to find the dogs. Fortunately, thanks to Sam having already put tracking devices on the dogs, Otto and Reggie manage to gather the dogs, get the rest of their payment, and buy the longboard. Afterward, when he and Reggie reconcile with their dad and present him with the longboard, Ray gives Otto an old keepsake - a Spanish gold coin that Danielle, Otto and Reggie's deceased mother, found on a scuba expedition in a sunken wreck off the coast of Barbados.
A year prior to "A Rocket X-Mas"' original airing, Otto and his companions made a cameo appearance in the Merry Nickmas short "The 12 Days of Nickmas". Otto sings the line "Four dudes a-shreddin'!" as he, Reggie, Twister, and Sam ride their skateboards in front of their fellow Nicktoon characters.
