Plot[]
The Browns arrive at the theatre, late and in drizzling rain. Paddington hurries along, passing by a couple who are confuddled with a bear with a suitcase. Paddington is told about Dick Whittington, who is really a girl as it is a pantomime show.
The show begins with Dick on stage. She asks for help and Paddington decides to give her a marmalade sandwich, getting laughter from the audience. The lady in front of Paddington is dismayed, but her husband reads that in a pantomime, audience participates too. In a scene, Dick's marmalade cat comes on stage. Paddington gets on and pets her, but it is really a person in a cat costume. Soon, a magician comes on stage and pulls a rabbit out of his hat and asks for a volunteer.
Paddington comes on and the magician, The Great Divide, pulls a silver coin out of his ear, which Paddington mentions which he could use for buns. And he also pulls a marmalade sandwich out of his hat. The Great Divide asks Paddington to show the audience there is nothing up his sleeves, but Paddington pulls his secrets out of his cape. The Great Divide then gets ready to saw Paddington in half. After it finishes, Paddington comments that he's still in one piece. And lastly, The Great Divide decides to make Paddington disappear in a box. Paddington loses his suitcase full of important things, but The Great Divide pulls it out and comments that there isn't anything inside. Paddington shows him all the things inside his secret compartment. Everyone loves the show and apparently everyone wanted Paddington's autograph.
