Pinocchio's Christmas is a 1980 Christmas television special produced by Rankin/Bass, based on the fairy tale Pinocchio. It currently airs annually during the Christmas season on ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas.
Synopsis
It is Pinocchio's first Christmas, and he sells the book Geppetto gives him for present money, but the Fox and Cat trick him out of it. So, Pinocchio becomes part of a (Christmas) Marionette show to make present money. He steals a girl puppet when he leaves, and the gendarmes chase him into the Forest of Enchantment. There, he meets Azora, a fairy with a cricket who try to fix Pinocchio's lying and set him on the right track. But then he's sold to a Duke, whom Pinocchio convinces to spend time with his children. And only Santa's reindeer can get Pinocchio home in time for Christmas

This special originally aired on ABC and now currently airs annually on ABC Family as a part of their 25 Days of Christmas programming block. It has been released on VHS several times over the years, and is currently available on DVD on Warner Home Video's Classic Christmas Favorites box set.
