Potty the Parrot is Patchy the Pirate's pet parrot in the Nickelodeon animated series SpongeBob SquarePants. He is a crudely-made puppet with very obvious strings who appears as a cohost to the special episodes hosted by Patchy. Despite being labeled as Patchy's friend, Potty is a frequent pest to him and often antagonizes him in his live-action segments, although they usually make up by the end of the episode.
Appearances in Christmas specials
The series' first Christmas episode, "Christmas Who?" is notably the first appearance of Potty, along with Patchy. As Patchy hosts the opening segment of the special, Potty pesters him by trying to eat the cookie dough that Patchy is trying to bake. Right before Patchy can introduce the cartoon that makes up the main story, Potty finally gobbles up all the dough, which causes his body to literally fall apart. After the cartoon ends, Potty gives Patchy a nest of decorated eggs as a Christmas present, and then starts trying to kiss him when he stands under the mistletoe.
Potty also appears along with Patchy in the series' second Christmas special, It's a SpongeBob Christmas! He accompanies Patchy on his attempt to bring his letter to Santa Claus at the North Pole.
