Rafiki is a supporting character from Disney's The Lion King franchise. He is an extremely sagacious and wise mandrill who is a close friend of the royal family of lions who rule over the Pride Lands. According to the prequel storybook A Tale of Two Brothers, he was once a traveler studying the African lands who took up residence in the Pride Lands after King Ahadi (the father of Mufasa and Scar) saved him from the three hyenas Shenzi, Banzai and Ed. Eventually, he became the official adviser to all future kings in the royal family.
