Roger and Anita Dearly are a married couple who originated in Dodie Smith's novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians, and naturally also appeared in the 1961 animated film adaptation by Walt Disney Animation Studios and its live-action remake. (It should be noted, though, that their first names were not given in the original book, while the 1961 film changed their surname to Radcliffe.) In both of the film adaptations, Roger and Anita are brought together by their respective pet dalmatians, Pongo and Perdita (who was named Missis in the original book). While Roger was a song composer in the 1961 film, the 1996 remake updated his occupation to being a computer game programmer, while Anita is a fashion designer for her old classmate and the story's villain, Cruella De Vil (for some reason, Anita does not realize how much of a menace Cruella really is, despite Roger's distrust). 101 Dalmatians: The Series, produced in the advent of the live-action remake, bases Roger and Anita's characterizations off of the live-action film, but with their character designs from the original animated film.
