Sandra "Sandy" Jennifer Cheeks is one of the main characters from the Nickelodeon animated series SpongeBob SquarePants. She is a very smart, talented, and athletic squirrel from the state of Texas, and one of SpongeBob's best friends. Being a squirrel, she lives in a giant air-filled dome known as the Treedome and usually wears a diving suit whenever she goes outside the dome.

Sandy with SpongeBob in "Christmas Who?"
Sandy briefly appears at the beginning of the series' first Christmas episode, "Christmas Who?", in which she is shown decorating her tree for Christmas. SpongeBob sees her turning on the lights on her tree and mistakenly believes that she has accidentally set her tree on fire. Sandy soon finds out that SpongeBob has never seen a Christmas tree nor even heard of Christmas before, so she tells him all about the holiday, which sets the episode's plot in motion.
Sandy has a larger role in the series' second Christmas special, "It's a SpongeBob Christmas!" Early on in the episode, she is shown trying out her Christmas Magic Analyzer when SpongeBob briefly visits and they wish each other merry Christmas. Later, SpongeBob seeks her help in finding out why the people of Bikini Bottom have turned nasty, only to find that she too has also become a fruitcake-consuming jerk. After they find out that it is the jerktonium in Plankton's fruitcakes that has turned everyone bad, Sandy uses her Christmas Magic Analyzer to produce an antidote, which comes in the form of a piece of music. She is the first one who is returned to normal when SpongeBob hums the music. After SpongeBob returns everyone to normal with the song, Sandy is shown congratulating him.
Sandy will be getting the starring role alongside her family in the series' next Christmas episode, "Sandy's Country Christmas".

Between the releases of the main series' second and third Christmas episodes, Sandy also appeared in "The Ho! Ho! Horror!", the Christmas episode of the prequel series Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years.
