Sherman Alexander Hemsley (February 1, 1938 - July 24, 2012) was an American actor, voice actor, and comedian, who was best known for playing George Jefferson in All in the Family and its spinoff, The Jeffersons, as well as voicing B.P. Richfield on Dinosaurs.
