Tananakuy (which from Quechua to English translates to "To Hit Each Other") is a holiday celebrated in the Chumbivilcas Province of Peru on December 25th, where people wear the traditional ski masks and fist-fight other people to resolve conflicts that may have been created earlier that year, letting off steam and putting the past behind them so they can start off the following year with a clean slate. The holiday is a tradition for the Peruvian people and although the exact date of it's debut is still unknown, record of the practice of the holiday dates back as far as the 1940's.
