Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde, collectively known as the Ghosts or Ghost Monsters, are the main antagonists from the Pac-Man video game series. In the original arcade game and most of their appearances since, their objective is to chase Pac-Man around the maze and stop him from eating all the dots, though they become vulnerable to being "chomped" by him if he eats a Power Pellet. Each one of them behaves differently: Blinky, the red ghost and leader, always follows Pac-Man; Pinky, the pink ghost, typically tries to ambush Pac-Man from the front; Inky, the blue ghost, tends to unpredictably switch between the two strategies; and Clyde, the orange ghost, will sometimes follow Pac-Man but typically wanders off whenever he gets close.

In the Hanna-Barbera animated series based on the games, the ghosts were naturally featured as recurring antagonists, appearing as the henchmen of a higher ghost villain named Mezmeron (an idea that would appear with new villains in later Pac-Man games). For some reason, Clyde was made the leader of the group instead of Blinky. The quartet were also joined by Sue, a female ghost who originated as a counterpart to Clyde in the Ms. Pac-Man game, but made into a completely different character for the cartoon.

Two decades later, in the newer animated series Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, the four Ghosts (minus Sue) again appeared as the henchmen of a new villain, in this case Lord Betrayus. Unlike previous iterations, though, the Ghostly Adventures versions of the Ghosts are more good-natured and even supply the teenaged Pac-Man with information about Betrayus' schemes.
