On Christmas Eve, the Mouse family moved because their home was already destroyed by a bulldozer. Soon, they found a place to stay, the Atwell house. "Field mice don't have time for Christmas foolishness." Papa Mouse tells his two hungry, young mice, Skip and Squeak. But the Christmas tree is filled with fun stuff for Skip and Squeak. While Skip and Squeak tried to find out what Christmas is, Charles Atwell reads the classic poem to his two children, Michael and Hallie. Skip and Squeak discovered a lot of holiday fun, including Santa Claus himself! But when Skip and Squeak met an angel at the top of the tree, they soon learned the true meaning of Christmas.
