Thomas Jeffrey "Tom" Hanks (born July 9, 1956) is an American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter, best known for his roles in live-action films since 1988, including Big, Sleepless in Seattle, Philadelphia, A League of Their Own, Forrest Gump, Apollo 13, Saving Private Ryan, You've Got Mail, The Green Mile, Cast Away, Catch Me If You Can, The Da Vinci Code, and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. He is also known for voicing Woody in the Toy Story movies.
