After Dave searches six stores, he is able to purchase a hard-to-find scooter for Grover's Christmas present, only to have it stolen from his garage. Calvin suggests that his barbershop crew will likely know about any stolen items in the area. The two are led to a sketchy reseller of stolen goods, but he doesn't have the scooter. In the end, the barbershop crew finds the scooter and returns it to Dave, while Calvin has another surprise for his neighbor. Elsewhere, Tina is disappointed when Malcolm and Marty feel they are too old to partake in one of her Christmas traditions.
