Wile Ethelbert Coyote (also known simply as "The Coyote") and The Road Runner are a pair of cartoon characters created by Chuck Jones for the Looney Tunes shorts produced for Warner Bros. In each cartoon featuring the characters, the Coyote uses absurdly complex contraptions (usually purchased from the Acme corporation) and elaborate plans to try to capture and eat the Road Runner, but he always fails at this task. The Road Runner typically never says anything except "Beep beep!", though older comic books depicted him as speaking in rhyme. Wile E. was mostly a silent character, with the notable exceptions of a few cartoons in which he battled Bugs Bunny and referred to himself as a "super genius".
