Winston Zeddemore is one of the main characters from the 1984 film Ghostbusters and its sequel, Ghostbusters II, as well as the animated series The Real Ghostbusters. In the original movie, where he was played by Ernie Hudson, Winston is the only member of the Ghostbusters who was not one of the three founding members; midway through the film, he joins the group to help deal with their large workload. Although he has no previous background in paranormal studies like Peter, Ray, and Egon and initially does not believe in the paranormal, he comes to accepts the existence of ghosts as soon as he encounters them on the job.
Winston, like his teammates, appears in The Real Ghostbusters Christmas episode, "Xmas Marks the Spot". True to his role, he is the everyman, liking Christmas, but is also overwhelmed by how crass and commercialistic everyone can become; he is also the one who most deeply gets what their premise-driving error really means.
